Christopher Springer
was believed to be born 1592 in Lamstedt, Hannover, Germany. After moving to
Stockholm he became scribe at the Judicial Board for Public Lands and Funds
1633, clerk at the Archives for Public Lands and Funds 1642, district judge
in Närdinghundra hundred 1646, referee at the Judicial Board for Public Lands
and Funds 1651 and inspector at the Archives for Public Lands and Funds 1665.
Owned a house made of stone in Klara, close to the church, in Stockholm. He
also was a musician and played in the Royal Opera-House Orchestra, he played
the oboe. Died 1669 in Klara parish in Stockholm, buried in the family grave
in Klara, inside the church.
Married first Dec 1 1633 to Karin
Larsdotter, secondly Sep 24 1645 to Gustava (no surname known) and
a third time Oct 15 1654 in the German parish in Stockholm to Beata
Balzarsdotter Salina, royal housekeeper for the dowager queen Hedvig
Eleonora (widow of King Charles X) at Gripsholms Castle, was buried Dec 17
1693 in Mariefred, daughter of Balzar Salinus who was barber-surgeon to the
Court.

Lorenz (Lars) Springer
(son of Christopher Springer and Karin Larsdotter. TABLE 1) born circa 1635,
registered at the University of Uppsala 1649, employed at the country
secretariat in Falun circa 1662, book-keeper at the mine of Stora Kopparberg
1664, inspector at Avesta kronobruk 1673-1676 and commissioner at the court
of appeal. In 1676 he translated a German revelation book, from which a
couple of hymns still are in the official Swedish Hymn-book, died 1690,
buried in Klara parish in Stockholm Jun 24 1690 in the family grave inside
the church.

Margareta Neuman, born Jun 13 1642, died Nov 2 1682 in childbirth at
Nibble in Hammarby parish (C), daughter of the Mayor of Halmstad and Director
of the Swedish African Company Hans Neuman and his first wife Margareta
Eriksdotter von der Linde. Secondly married Jan 10 1684 to Maria Mörling,
born Sep 2 1662, died in Sep 1704, daughter of the deputy judge at the court
of appeal Lars Månsson Mörling (raised Mörling) and his first spouse Britta
Billingia in her second marriage.

Wendela and Joachim Jr had the children: Anna Maria born 1690, Margareta
circa 1692-1753, Wendela born 1692 and Joachim. Wendela remarried 1700 the
nephew of her mother-in-law, the bookkeeper at the Reduction Commission Anton
Wickman, son of Wichman Corneliusson and his first spouse Elsa Berg.
Wendela and Anton Wickman had a son, Carl Anton Wickman.

Christopher Springer
(son of Lorenz Springer and Margareta Neuman TABLE. 2), lawyer at the court
of appeal and the solicitor of the former minister Georg Heinrich von Görtz,
who was tried and executed after the death of King Karl XII. Christopher
Springer died circa 1730;

Sahlberg born 1677 in Stockholm (Katharina), daughter of Johan Mattsson
Sahlberg, court functionary and his second spouse Sophia Magdalena Jung.

appeal, died Jun 10 1762. He was not married.
Lorenz Christopher, registered at the University of Uppsala Jun
18 1718, clerk at the War department, died Oct 25 1750. In 1739 he married
his aunt’s granddaughter Wendela Schylman, daughter of Henric Schylman
and Margareta von Glan. They had two sons: Henric Christopher born 1740 and
Carl Gustaf 1749-1822.
Christopher Springer, born Jun 18 1704 in Stockholm, merchant
and politician. When he was young he visited foreign countries and he settled
down in Stockholm, where he started trading. Very soon he meddled into
political affairs, in the beginning as a "hat" (conservative), but
from the parliamentary session of 1742 as a "cap" (liberal). At the
election for the succession to the throne 1742, he drove the so called principle
question, he demanded that the parliamentarians should follow the
instructions of their electors. Although he was not a member he forced his
way into the Parliament and violently attacked his political enemy Thomas
Plomgren. Because of that, and his behavior in general he was imprisoned, but
was released in Jan 1746. During the Parliament of this year he kept open
house every day for about twenty "caps" and it was generally
considered that he had secret connections with the Russian minister to
Sweden. This was the reason for imprisoning him again in 1747, but one night,
after a couple of months in jail he managed to get his guards drunk. He put
the hat of a sleeping officer on his own head, which enabled him to escape.
He sought protection in the house of the English minister, but he was
nevertheless extradited and sentenced to penal servitude for life at the
fortification of Marstrand in Jan 1748. In 1752 he succeeded to escape from
his prison, he crossed the sea in a small open boat and managed to reach
Jutland, Denmark. From there he went to Russia, where he was very well
accepted and was made assessor in the Russian national board of trade in
Petersburg. When the Swedish government in 1754 improved the relations with
Russia he was afraid of being extradited and left Russia. He rove about in
Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Austria and Holland, and finally he settled down in
England, became a close friend and adherent of Emanuel Swedenborg, and he was
regarded as one of the mainstays of the Swedish parish in London, died Aug 9
1788 in London. In 1737, he married Christina Tottie 1707-1766,
daughter of Thomas Tottie, tobacco manufacturer, and Christina Schönman.

Margareta, born in Feb 1706, died Mar 12 1788 in Vallentuna.
She married Hans Brase, judge- advocate at the Admiralty and district
judge in the Vendel hundred in Uppland died 1767, son of Mårten Brass, raised
Brase, and his second spouse Christina Wildeman in her second marriage.
Children: Margareta Christina and Hedvig 1728-1774 and four unknown sons,
dead before their mother.

Anton, born Feb 10 1714 in Stockholm (Jacob), died Jul 17 1759
in Stockholm, cupbearer and restaurateur at "Den gyldene freden"
inter alia. He was married to Anna Catharina Lokens died 1766. No
children.
Anna Maria, born 1718, died 1796, married to the vicar in
Vallentuna Uno Fast in his second marriage. Children: Johan Uno died
1812 and Margareta Catharina.

daughter of Henrik Winecker and Anna Maria Pelander. Anna Charlotta was
lady-in-waiting at the court, she served the Crown Princess, Sophia
Magdalena, the consort of Gustaf III. The Crown Princess gave Anna Charlotta
a book as a farewell token in 1768, the book has been inherited in the family
since then.

Charles Springer
(son of Christopher Springer and Beata Balzarsdotter Salina. TABLE 1), born
1658 in Stockholm (A). As a young man, Charles was sent abroad to study,
first to Riga, Latavia (then a province of Sweden) and later to London to
learn English and mathematics. He then disappeared. By a letter to his
mother, Charles explained his fate: About to return home, he was kidnapped
and carried aboard on an English vessel to Virginia “where I was sold like a
farm animal” and held in “very slavery” for five years. Having served his
time, he went 400 miles to join the Swedes on the Delaware in 1684. Charles
first lived in Gloucester County, before 1693 he moved to Oak Hill, east of
Red Clay Creek. By 1727 the Springer family owned 786 acres in this area.
Charles Springer was serving on the church council in 1693 and remained in
this capacity until his death. He also served as a justice on the New Castle
court. Charles Springer died of stroke May 26 1738.
On Dec 27 1685 Charles
married Maria Henricksdotter, who died 1727 (buried Mar 15), daughter
of Henrick Jacobsson. Three months later Charles remarried to Annika
Gustafsson (Anna Justis), born circa 1666 daughter of Johan
Gustafsson and Brita Månsdotter, and widow of both Matthias Mårtensson
(Morton) and Jonas Walraven. Charles and Maria had six sons and at least five
daughters and they have thousands of descendants all over USA:
